Yup, this is why the electoral college makes no sense. Without it, republicans would have very little chance at winning. The elections are rigged, just legally and in favor of the right.
Republicans have won the popular vote twice in my lifetime (I’m 30)… Pretty sure they’ve out numbered republicans for a bit
Does the Democratic gerrymandering outnumber the Republican gerrymandering though?
One thing that I find funny is that Americans play politics like they’re in the team. You say things like that person is a democrat or a Republican even though so that person did was vote for a party.
If only they bothered to vote
We need ranked choice voting so fucking badly.
Most Americans dislike both sides.
Democrats being less bad but still bad doesn’t inspire any support.
It’s almost like having a two-party system is designed to force you to vote in people you don’t like until you get to the point where nobody buys into the system anymore and it simply crashes.
You’re looking at this the wrong way. Republicans have been a poltical minority for a long time. They are gaining ground against democrats particularly since 2020. Libs should be out campaigning right now, aggressively, if they want to flip congress.
In most categories, until the neither decide to vote Republican then we get DT!
This isn’t new. The problem is that Republican votes count more because the Electoral College favors states with low populations.
It doesn’t matter if there’s a trillion Democrats if they’re all in California.
Democrats need to look at this data and campaign to the groups which don’t support them if they want to win the next elections, reflect on why you don’t appeal to these groups, see what you can change and implement it
Just goes to show that being the majority doesnt impact the poor decisions of your leaders.
The Neo Republican party is quite actively persuing facist dictatorship, and people are still this willing to vote for them?
Next time a republican open their mouth and vomit the words “Freedom” then slap them hard and tell them they don’t give a flying shit about freedom and never have.
And yet still loose every 4 years.
While yes this is true, tons of them will still not go out and vote for the democrat party and instead help fuck it up by getting a felon into office.
Doesn’t mean a thing if they don’t come out to vote, or if a sizable number get excluded from being able to vote
as others have pointed out, this has been true for a very long time.
And this is why the our owners makes sure that voters don’t have a choice
Doesn’t matter if you don’t have direct elections by popular vote .
I’ll believe in 2026 and and definitely in 2028
So, based on this chart, if you are Southern, White, Uneducated, and Male you are absolutely what’s wrong with this country.
And it’s going to get much worse for Republicans after this administration. More and more staunch Republicans are already fed up. In all of those cases, it’s because something negative is impacting them financially.
I used to be a hardcore republican, pretty moderate but I didn’t agree with everything. Now I can still say there are alot of things I don’t agree with the dems on like abortions and forcing lgbtq, but republicans have become so for throwing away human life and standing firm on financial struggles for everyday people, these republicans have lost their minds, we need change bad, I didn’t vote for the orange man, but the other option was kamala, so not much to vote for.
Ironically it’s the grey ones that matter so…
In my experience, at least here in Indiana, nearly everyone in the “neither” category is actually a Republican, or Libertarian (same/same nowadays). They just don’t want to be associated with the R brand. So, I’m going to suggest the numbers are much closer than this chart (sadly) represents.

The two party system is terrible for our country, stop celebrating it
Where are consistent votes to back it up? Would love to see it actually make a difference. 🙂
Too bad put outdated system doesn’t care about the majority. Also a pity those democrats don’t fucking show up for elections when it’s not a POTUS race.
ok then why didn’t they vote
”4 out of 10, most Americans hate math.”
Too bad getting democrats to agree on enough in common to actually vote is like finding a unicorn

Now if we can only get them to vote

Don’t shoot the messenger.

Do we have the same data before Trump’s election?

Gerrymandering is a powerful thing.
Remind me in 4 years when republicans win again
According to this, they’re both exactly the same.
