“We have very close inter-parliamentary relations with the UAE, both in bilateral and multilateral formats. Friendship groups operate within the parliaments of both countries, holding meetings and discussing key issues of cooperation. We also meet our colleagues at international forums, including BRICS summits, where the UAE is a full member and Belarus currently has partner status. With the UAE’s support, we hope Belarus will soon become a full member of BRICS,” he stressed.
According to Sergei Rachkov, there is a wide range of topics available for discussion between the parliaments of both countries, ranging from trade to humanitarian cooperation. “We strongly support the development of people’s and parliamentary diplomacy, as well as the establishment of tourism and direct air service between Belarus and the United Arab Emirates. This will help people in both countries understand each other better and contribute significantly to our cooperation,” he emphasized. “It is the task of parliamentarians to fully realize the potential of our cooperation for the benefit of both countries.”
