COLUMBUS, Ohio (WSYX) — Vice President JD Vance will lead a U.S. delegation to Vatican City to attend the inaugural Mass of Pope Leo XIV on Sunday, May 18, 2025.
Vance recently visited Vatican City in April, where he met with Pope Francis just hours before he passed away at the age of 88.
The Vice President will be joined by Second Lady Usha Vance, as well as Secretary of State Marco Rubio his wife, Jeanette.
Pope Leo XIV, the first American Pope, was elected last week in the second day of voting at the Conclave.
The administration also notes Vice President Vance is the first Catholic convert to serve as Vice President.
