  1. And yet it is not going to happen.

Full public investment? No budget left to do such a giant project.

Full private? Nope the profit margins on nuclear or not high enough compared to solar and wind. Never mind the gigantic overhead related to running such plants.

Gasplants may be more expensive at times etc, but for a private company it makes more sense since you don’t need to have them online all the time etc.

Only possibility is public + private collab, however this is a political minefield, especially with the leftists in the government etc (why give public money to private company etc etc) And then we haven’t talked about where to build it yet…

Don’t expect new ones to be built anytime soon

  2. Sorry to be pedantic but I have never seen the Kamer referred to as “the House of Representatives” before. Usually writing in English we just say “the Kamer/theChamber” or “lower house of Parliament” if you want to be more neutral. It’s a bit confusing otherwise.

  3. Niemand wilt dat in zijn achtertuin. Een nieuwe komt er nooit.

  5. It just shows how out of touch the government is. Why bother now? Solar&wind + batteries is already cheaper.

  6. Not that it matters, nobody is gonna build something that expensive which takes 15-20 years to get going
