Pakistan launches counterattacks against India after strikes on air bases • FRANCE 24 English

Today on In the latest escalation of conflict, Pakistan military releases this video of firing missiles from an undisclosed location. State-run TV calls them retaliatory attacks after India stripped three air bases inside Pakistan. One of the bases just 10 kilometers from the capital. Majority of missiles have been intercepted by the alert air defense system of the Pakistan armed forces. The few that have been able to sneak in have not been able to cause any damage to the flying assets of Pakistan air force. I want to assure the people of Pakistan that your armed forces are vigilant and thwarting. The Indian army reported a new wave of drone attacks targeting the Indian administered Kashmir region in what it’s calling a blatant escalation. Residents living near the highly militarized border are unsure where to go. We were all scared something was going to happen today. A missile crossed and hit a tank, shattering glass. Those four, five houses look like they were fired upon. Tensions have soared since an attack last month in India administered Kashmir killed 26 mostly Indian tourists. G7 countries have urged the two nations to show maximum restraint while the US has offered to assist in constructive talks.

Pakistan on May 10 launched what it said was retaliatory attacks against India after three of its air bases were struck by missiles. The tit-for-tat attacks between Islamabad and New Delhi have been carried out since Wednesday, and fears are growing that the conflict between the two nuclear-armed neighbours could spiral out of control.
