2. Before the trolls show up to proclaim that “wE cAn’T aFfOrD tHiS bEcAuSe We aRe bAnKrUpT!” I’ll point out that the Inflation Reduction Act is the most fiscally responsible bill of this size ever. It contains revenue and cost-saving measures that fully pay for the spending within the bill and actually REDUCE the federal deficit. And it lowers the cost of prescription drugs, home energy efficiency improvements, energy and EVs for consumers. It also revitalizes domestic manufacturing, creates hundreds of thousands of good paying middle class jobs for Americans and lessens our dependence on China. Do we give up all of this and increase the deficit just to give Musk, Trump, Zuckerberg and Bezos a huge gift? This bill is so ludicrous that it would have been unimaginable, even for Republicans, a couple of decades ago.
