  1. Putin doesn’t want peace because he has not accomplished his objectives. Peace talks are basically pointless.

  2. Anyone who seriously thought this was going to be successful was an fucking fool. Neither side is willing to concede at this very moment. We see that fact as clear as fucking day, on the frontline.

    At a min we have 2 more years of this war. At a maximum 5 years. But it’s somewhere in between.

  3. Back to the grind. The killing continues until both are sick of it.

    Ukraine’s theory of victory is fairly simple: get NATO into the war and wins the war for Ukraine. The “Coalition of the Willing” is unfortunately unwilling to oblige.

  6. Then we fight until Russia is defeated. They want to connect to Moldova’s break away area . Take it over so their task is impossible. Get ahead of them .

  7. Once Putin said he won’t go, the meeting became pointless and Zelensky recognized this and decided not to go either. None of Putin’s underlings that are going have enough authority vested in them to make any concessions. Only Putin has the authority to do something Putin doesn’t like. If Russia shows up unwilling to make any concessions at all then it’s not a negotiation.

  9. They didn’t devolve into this.

    They **were always** this. There was never a possibility for Putin to actually show up, because that would legitimize Ukraine’s democratically elected government.

    It only “devolved” into actual reality if the place you’re “devolving” from is a place where the fantasies the Kremlin says (that they’re prepared to have talks in good faith) are the world we live in. They are not right now, and it hasn’t devolved into this because they never were in the first place.

  13. I disagree. Ukraine made it here very clear to the world, Europe and Trump that Putler doesn’t want peace.

    Basically he called Putler his bluff.

    This is gowing to amount a lot of pressure in many ways on Trump to step up the help to Ukraine and the sanctions on Putler.

  14. “Name calling” – Putin had no intention of attending and doesn’t want peace. Name calling is not relevant.
