If you’re craving gyros, moussaka and baklava, the region’s biggest Greek festival is the place to go.

Started in 1972, the three-day PA Greek Fest at Holy Trinity Greek Orthodox Cathedral in Wormleysburg has grown into one of the largest ethnic festivals in the state, attracting more than 30,000 visitors.

Church volunteers invest hundreds of hours preparing traditional dishes from pastitsio to pastries.

“Our community does come together because they really do like sharing the culture. We are very fortunate,” said Dimitri Zozos, a church member and one of the organizers.

The festival also includes church tours and performances by the Olympic Flames dancers. Cash and credit card payments are accepted.

New this year, visitors can board a shuttle at Highmark at 1800 Center St. in East Pennsboro Township for a quick ride to the church.

A full menu and schedule can be found on the festival’s website.

Address: 1000 Yverdon Drive, Wormleysburg

HOURS: 11 a.m.-8 p.m. May 16-17 and 11 a.m.-3 p.m. May 18.
