  1. Republicans love to deny the will of the voters. It’s not election denial for them because they don’t believe in elections. They just want to rule as they see fit.

  2. This is why “you’re not losing any rights, it is being returned back to the states” is such an absolute flaming pile of shit argument.

  3. And yet somehow these republicans still keep winning offices in the state

  4. My state is so embarrassing. I actually think abortion will be explosive here. In terms of political reaction.

  5. It’s kind of ironic that they voted in favor of abortion rights and paid sick leave, but at the same time voted for republicans, somehow thinking that the two were compatible. LOL.

*Edit was to fix a spelling error.*

  6. Other countries would be burning tires in the streets by now.

  7. I hate every missourian that voted for these rats

  8. Why anybody votes for them is insane. They never have and never will care about WE the people.

  9. God save us all. Not one single thing has gotten “great” or even stayed ok. It’s all crumbling.

  10. Republican politicians? Not giving a damn about regular people and catering only to rich people and culture warriors?

    Predictable.

  11. States rights is a FAKE Republican position just like every single other thing they pretend to care about. When it comes down to it all I see is them running to defend murderers in the name of protecting guns

  12. And during the next round of elections their will be a focus on the zero trans athletes playing women’s sports in Missouri instead of Republicans telling voters in Missouri to fuck themselves

It also got rid of increasing minimum wage based on the consumer price index. No biggie, surely that money will just trickle down

  13. Missouri would be a blue state if republicans didn’t steal elections, stop the steal!

  14. This is why we can’t have nice things!!! Huh, i thought republicans were all about REPRESENTING their constituents?

  15. Missouri people, who do you call those, should try and link up with their neighbors. There’s no way anyone is okay with a lack of paid sick leave.

  16. Republicans in power don’t give a rat’s ass what the people they ‘represent’ actually want.

  17. Yea, Republicans suck. Not sure why people expect anything beneficial out of them.

  18. Keep in mind that this is how confident they are that they can directly override their own constituents and they’ll still maintain their power. Due to making voting more difficult and gerrymandering, they’re probably right. And that’s exactly what’s wrong in this country.

  19. This is why you should always dismiss Trumpists blubbering about the “voters gave him a mandate” argument. Republicans don’t give a fuck about what voters think

  20. Voting in favor of this bill and then voting in Republicans to oversee its passage is like choosing a pack of wolves to babysit your children.

  21. They voted for this but kept the GOP in power 🤡 clown behavior

  22. As they promised they would.

And didn’t Missourians maintain the repub majority in the last election??

You get what you vote for.

  23. In Utah voters passed medical marijuana and an independent redistricting Commission. Republican legislature came right in and gutted both. I don’t get why people cultishly vote Republican when Republicans clearly do not care about what the public wants.

  24. The fix starts here: Vote Every Republican Out Everywhere ASAP – End this Nightmare!

  25. It’s literally why the Republican Party needs to be dissolved, they are so unAmerican it’s crazy.

  26. Fun fact: draconian abortion laws will stop many women from having kids. Why? Because we don’t want to die from a miscarriage.

  27. It’s insane to that indirect democracy is allowed to override direct democracy.

  28. >The second bill repeals paid sick leave protections passed under Proposition A and ends the state’s inflation-based minimum wage indexing. Both votes passed swiftly, despite an hours-long Democratic filibuster.

    >The repeal of Proposition A is set to take effect August 28, stripping benefits from hundreds of thousands of workers. Meanwhile the proposed abortion restrictions are likely to end up back on the state’s ballot in 2026.

All Republicans ever do is keep kicking the working class in the nuts and yet keep getting rewarded for it *by the working class*.

  29. If the people voted for it in a ballot measure, politicians should be forced to implement it as proposed and voted on, and it should be extremely illegal for any politician to oppose it on personal, ideological, or economic grounds.

The people voted for it, period. Come hell or high water, even if it’s objectively a horrendous decision economically, you MUST be FORCED to implement it.

  30. Missourans need to show up in masse at their state house while it’s session and protest loudly. Start showing up at your states reps HOMES if you gotta. They are subverting your will.

  31. “We want abortion and paid time off but don’t want Democrats.”

    Fuckin idiots

  32. “let’s leave it up to the states”

Missouri votes in favor of abortion rights

    No, not like that.
We expected you to vote to ban abortion.
We’re going to force a do over.

    = Republicans, apparently
