With the May long weekend in sight, Regina residents might wish to look ahead at what’s happening in the city.
Victoria Day is a federal public holiday, held to honour Queen Victoria as the “Mother of Confederation.” It’s a distinctly Canadian holiday, one that has been celebrated as far back as 1845. Originally, Victoria Day was held on the Queen’s birthday, May 24, but is now recognized on the last Monday before May 25.
