WASHINGTON (TNND) — While Congress works to pass a new budget, government spending continues, especially at the Department of Defense, which has never passed an audit.
Rachel O’Brien, the Deputy Public Policy Editor at Open the Books, said that President Donald Trump has requested an unprecedented $1 trillion for the DOD, and part of the reason it is so big is that Congress often adds provisions into the Pentagon budget, so spending increases on autopilot.
