Example is still the best mixed genre artist of the noughties. Back during a simpler time
Is 4th photo parliament hill hampstead heath ?
I can smell that Wetherspoons photo.
Those fish pedicure things are right up there with the weirdest fads of the 2010s. Who even thought of that as a concept.
I moved to a scuzzy flat in Gospel Oak in 2009 that is *just* out of view in pic 4. The skyline view from Parliament Hill of that time will always remind me of what I specifically believe to be the good ‘ol days (before all my old friends left the city). I still live nearby but, even with the financial crash, it was a time of such optimism for me. Thanks for sharing!
Pic 20 – The Montague Pike if I’m not mistaken (Previously the Marquee Club)
Feels like 2012 was the last “normal” year we had. After that it felt like we had crossed timelines.
I bought a MIDI lead from Homtron once. True story.
The Olympics was so much fun.
Wait is No 19 the Trocadero?
Example 😂
London 2012 was such a mood! I still remember the feeling of seeing the city brimming with so many visitors and big sports personalities. My local area was unrecognisable! Many of the regulars had zapped out of town to escape the mayhem as aliens took over their spots at my usual hangouts lol
Ah, solid memories …
Barcalys Bikes!
I got lured by “2012 London” and I’ve been stuck here since, chasing that same high and never quite hitting it again 🥲
Maybe show kebab prices because other than that, it looks the same
Nice to see the cars not all being stupid large.

Neither New Cross kebabs did it for me. Threw my lot in with Uncle Wrinkle.
I thought Number 5 might be Ilford rather than Dagenham, but the windows aren’t right on the bit of the High Street I thought it was on…
Turns out it’s actually Barking:

Mans was cool until 2006 or so in sawf lahndahn (goldsmith’s) then went all posh out east.
Remember people saying they had ‘post 2012’ blues after the Olympics and Paralympics, which was so true. When I very occasionally walk around the Olympic park, the memories and feeling occasionally hit. Loved it, what a time!
I wish you’d taken a photo of the Wetherspoons food and drink menus.
Dagenham ❤️
London as the worldwide capital city of hipsteria! When living in Shoreditch was a bold move and when the Dean Street Townhouse was an actually cool place.

Blue Boris bikes 😍 (fuck Boris though)
The first Dagenham pic is near Civic Center I am sure of it.
Snow! I remember we used to get snow over easter. Now we get summer weather.
