ATLANTA — 11Alive anchor Jennifer Bellamy is being celebrated after she received an award for being one of Atlanta Business Chronicle’s 40 under 40 on Thursday.
She anchors 11Alive News at 6 p.m. and 11 p.m.
A native of the Atlanta area, Jennifer grew up in Gwinnett County before college. She attended the University of Georgia with a degree in Broadcast News and a minor in Spanish.
Jennifer began her career in Macon, Georgia at 13WMAZ, 11Alive’s sister station, where she reported, produced and served as a fill-in anchor. She then joined News19 in Columbia, South Carolina where she worked as a general assignment and political reporter and was later promoted to weekend anchor before coming to 11Alive.
She has been nominated for several regional EMMY Awards through the National Academy of Television Arts and Sciences’ Southeast Chapter, including a nomination for outstanding anchor.
Jennifer recently celebrated 10 years with 11Alive.

She gave a few remarks at the event on Thursday, thanking those who supported her along her journey. She also gave advice to those starting out in their careers.
“My advice to anyone about facing challenges early on in your career is to know that what you started out with isn’t necessarily where you will end. It’s something that you create, and it doesn’t have to end with one person telling you no,” she said.
Former 11Alive anchor and current NBC Dateline correspondent Blayne Alexander was also honored on Thursday with a 40 under 40 award.

Alexander, who still lives in Atlanta, began her journalism career in Georgia and was a lead reporter and anchor at 11Alive before joining NBC News. She now serves as a national correspondent for Dateline NBC.
She also gave remarks at the event.
“I want to be remembered as someone who is compassionate, somebody who used the platform to make a difference in a life or community,” she said when accepting her award.
Alexander will be giving the commencement speech at Agnes Scott College on Saturday, May 17.
