Nah trust me I have travelled to a lot of countries, england is definitely heaven on earth
On the contrary.
I’m quite happy to be English
I felt like this until I worked at an American summer camp for a few summers. Turns out it’s not that bad here.
I’m know it’s a joke, but this place is great compared to 99% of the rotw. Look for the good and you’ll see it – it’s still there
There’s probably about 2 countries I’ve been to I’d like to live in other than Britain.
Britain’s not bad, trust me.
If you want to feel happy about the UK visit America, if they let you in that is. I can’t think of a country I wouldn’t visit over that backwards fucking mess.
Countries such as? 😂
I know Britain is far from perfect, but as an American living in the UK, I think it’s just lovely here.
Life hack: don’t go home. I’m on year 14 of living in Mexico.
British propaganda is top tier.
I grew up thinking we were the dogs bollocks, only to later realise why the villain is always played by an English person.
Currently on holiday. U didn’t have to attack me like that for no reason
Ah yes, European holidays
Ah, France
Coming back to a country where “pothole” is a personality trait
You didn’t enjoy the other country because it’s better than the UK, you enjoyed it because you were on holiday.
(There are definitely countries that do some things better than us, but a lot of people come back from their jollies with the idea that the locals live like that all the time, spending hours on the beach, eating a nice restaurants, then closing the day off with a night out on the town.)
Wait, did OP post this and then delete his profile?
I love the UK, I just think a lot of the people ruin it
I don’t need to come back from holiday to feel that, I just have to remember the sun only exists for 4 months out of the year
Amsterdam ruined my perception of UK public transport forever, including in London
Yes, right in the feels
I only really get this when I go to Germany and places like Sweden.
This was me when I came home after 4 years in Australia. Fuck me, i honestly had stage fright as well on how small roads and rooms/houses were, it felt claustrophobic for a few weeks.
Only came back because of divorce, my kids were born there so I plan to retire and they can come and go.
Chicks were mostly hotter there though, not just from temp.
At the time (2011-15) was less of duck lips and influencer BS so who knows now.
The system may be broken in this country, but the land is beautiful.
Nope: brother is moving back from the US, I just got back from Egypt. Both of us thankful for our nationality. Even my kids stopped complaining about school having seen a little boy trying sell us stuff on a busy street.
OP is either French or Australian.
The taste of their food and the beauty of their women made British men the best sailors in the world
This works for Americans too.
The UK is pretty great, it’s not perfect but nowhere is.
If we could only just get our trains working as well as most other European countries and significantly cutting the cost of tickets then we’d be fantastic.
Double decker trains, they are so good but with how many tunnel / bridges we have I know it’s not really cost efficient.
I’ve only ever been to one country that i’d rather live in the UK than, so this is believable.
The fact is that the countries that are easy to live in, people are nice, everything works and things are efficient have an awful climate and vice versa.
Except Russia, which combines awful conditions with even more awful conditions. And people.
Coming back from the USA you’d kiss the tarmac at the airport and praise whatever god it is you pretend to believe in. 😂
But the uniparty is increasing our GDP
I feel this way when I’m at some other countries
It’s not that bad here
Very distinctly American feelings, bruv. Even visiting a more civilized state in the U.S. (even they barely qualify), is painful. Every time I’ve gone to a European country, I’m reminded that there are far better ways to live. 😮💨
It’s a hell of. Lot better than where I’m from (amerikkka)
Where is this fictional place that just works?
Just spent the last week pottering around the countryside of Herefordshire/Worcestershire/Gloucestershire. Sunny, good food, truly beautiful scenery.
Our country is great.
As someone who’s lived in Ireland for the last 6 years, trust me, there are places worse to live than England…
You’re comparing holiday with daily life
why do you think the usa is so popular after the visit it does not seem as bad here
And some bugger has stolen your steering wheel while parked at the airport…
It is swings and round abouts. Some one mentioned Switzerland, where they have very expensive private insurance based health care!
To me Denmark seemed pretty good to live, language is hard to learn though. I remember going to Germany a lot for work, Hamburg specifically. And the locals were telling me how shite the trains were and how bad the main autobahn was, due to road works, which never seemed to end.
It sounded very familiar!
There’s not many of those left!
There’s a difference between holidaying in a nice place and actually living there. Having lived in other places I can say although people moan about transport, education, crime and healthcare, it’s actually on the whole ok here. And the big one is bureaucracy. UK is the only place I’ve lived where you dont spend half your life at some obscure adminstration building navigating something that can be done online here in 5 minutes
The worst thing about living in Spain was I was often the ugliest man in any given room. In the UK I’m just normal
no risk of being shot, free healthcare, no mass school shootings every other week.
Compared to the USA, the UK is great
Nice try Yank, but I think you’ll find that life isn’t worth living, regardless of what country you’re in.
Not many places like that exist really….
The joke doesn’t work and the op clearly hasn’t seen much of the world.
Things do work in the UK relatively well
It’s the grey clouds at Heathrow that make people despair
American living in Houston, Texas and yes this is me. Feel this way just visiting other American cities which in many ways are like foreign countries.
