• wavelength – 1080 nm
• power – 1,500 W
• distance – 20-800 m
• operating time – 30 min
• weight – 50 kg
Great start but it’s going to need much faster tracking to bring down a drone. Also needs a hydraulic lift so it pops out of the sunroof for use so that it looks like a family car until the death ray is released.

What are the effects on mobiks, etc?
i mean cool and all but its a toy. you arent going to do anything a rifle cant do faster and cheaper.
headshot!
Seriously, this will suck for the receiving end when used on humans.
also a great way to setoff explosives from remote. Defusing of mines, or explode ammunition that is being carried by people.
а що якщо у дронів буде дзеркальна поверхня?
I would like to buy 5.
It’s probably better than advertised, the max range is probably 1km+.
Also looks small enough to integrate into existing platforms like Leopard/Bohdana for point defense, or with gun-based AA units.
👏Bloody geniuses🇺🇦
Ukrainians are gonna be the first to figure out laser guns. I’m predicting it now.
Edit: I was just thinking about what I said here and how 20 yrs or so ago this would have just been insane or silly to say. But we have flying cars and all that now. Walking/dancing robots. All types of crazy drones. And AI with almost all known human knowledge and can answer any questions with grace! So I don’t think it’s that far fetched anymore. Not far fetched at all.
Ok cool. Now grab a few Orcs and see how long it takes to burn through them.
Please oh please oh please put some googley eyes on it and angry eyebrows.
It looks cool but I’m not sure it has many practical applications. If anyone could prove me wrong though, it’s Ukrainians
At first I thought it was one of those projectors.from school back in the day
*white smoke. Me: “Habemus papam!”
Looks like an early project, with the spec and how it works I don’t see it used outside of industrial work.
So umm… do they sell these at Costco? eBay?
asking for a friend 😁
This is perfect for targeting soldiers, not only drones.
Would be great to see something aiming at targets 1km away, burning through their armour and other materiel.
I foresee that lasers will play a role in defense against drones: this model is still a very tame 1500 Watt, yet it can already deal significant damage in short timespans.
The main advantage of lasers is obviously that you cannot dodge them. The battery of drones will be extremely susceptible to lasers, and even damage to the outer layer of a battery pack could short it and cause it to ignite. The camera of the drones will also be vulnerable for high wattage lasers.
I think these systems could have a future on vehicles: they can draw their power from the vehicle itself, and therefore draw more power than if if were to be connected to a battery.
This could be used to start a fire in factories, or to cripple vehicles, up to 1km distance is enough to hide the operator and device
When lightsabers?
Great for anti-ground purposes. As for drones, microwave EMP emitters will do the trick (fiber optic guided or otherwise).
