The Embassy of India in the Republic of Croatia is celebrating the International Day of Yoga (IDY) with a series of 50 events throughout the country, offering free yoga sessions for the public.
This year’s celebration on Pržina Beach in Lumbarda will begin on Sunday, May 18, at 9:00 AM. As a prelude to the main IDY celebration, a yoga workshop will be held, organised by the Wellbeing Academy and the Embassy of India. The event will also be attended by the Ambassador of India to Croatia, H.E. Arun Goel.
More details about the continuation of the program will be published at the end of May. The program is expected to include additional activities in line with the 2025 global IDY theme – “Yoga for One Earth, One Health” – which highlights the importance of yoga for both individual and planetary health. This initiative is part of a broader global movement that promotes health, well-being, and sustainability through yoga, marked by events worldwide, including mass demonstrations, educational sessions, and community-focused activities.
“The workshop is open to everyone, regardless of prior experience, and offers a unique opportunity to practice yoga together while promoting physical and mental well-being,” said event organiser Aleksandra Horwood of the Wellbeing Academy.
All interested participants are invited to follow upcoming announcements and join this special event in Lumbarda, which – with the presence of the Indian Ambassador – will further emphasize the significance and universal value of yoga as a means of achieving harmony between body, mind, and the environment.
“The event in Lumbarda celebrates the unity of body, mind, and spirit through yoga – an ancient practice that teaches us balance, compassion, and peace. Through movement and meditation, we are reminded that true well-being is a shared experience,” announced Ambassador Goel.
