PORT ARTHUR, Texas — As the legal battle over a fatal construction accident at Port Arthur LNG continues, the plaintiffs are now demanding key records from hospitals, emergency responders, and law enforcement.

Attorneys for the families of the victims have issued a formal notice to take depositions by written questions—a legal move used to collect documents from third parties without live testimony, according to a court document filed May 15, 2025. The notice seeks medical and billing records for Reginald Dontrell Magee, one of the three workers killed in the April 29 accident, from CHRISTUS St. Elizabeth Hospital.

It also requests incident-related records from the Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office, the Port Arthur and Sabine Pass Fire Departments, and a records services firm. The plaintiffs are asking for everything from 911 call logs and dispatch records to body cam footage, photographs, and investigation reports.

This step reflects the broader discovery effort underway, as plaintiffs work to build their case by collecting evidence from external sources—not just from the companies named in the lawsuit. The move follows court direction earlier this month emphasizing the importance of document production and discovery in understanding what led to the deadly collapse.
