The emoluments clause locted in Article 1 section 9 clause 8 .
Basically, the president can receive gifts from a foreign country as long as Congress approves . If Congress approves the gift , there's no violation of the U.S. Constitution. If Congress says no and the President still accepts the gift, then the president has violated the u s Constitution .
