Singing for Malta in this year’s Eurovision Song Contest 2025 is pop star Miriana Conte.

The 24-year-old will be representing her country in the final of this year’s competition which takes place in the Swiss city of Basel on Saturday night.

Miriana was selected to be Malta’s act after winning the annual Malta Eurovision Song Contest 2025. She made it through to the final after qualifying from Thursday night’s second semi-final.

Miriana has been trying to represent Malta for many years, beginning when she competed at her country’s Eurosong in 2016, where she finished in last place.

Trying again in 2018, 2022 and 2024, Miriana is finally achieving her dream. Boasting a stellar voice, Miriana blends contemporary pop with edgy and dynamic elements, in both her songs and performances.

Known for her bubbly personality, Miriana has been performing since she was just five-years-old. In 2018 she co-founded music group 4th Line, making it to the final of The X Factor Malta in 2018.

Miriana has been in the headlines in the run-up to the Eurovision, having had to change the name of her song, which was initially called Kant.

However, due to the word sounding like an English expletive, Miriana had to change it to SERVING.

Speaking earlier this week, Mirianna said “it was a bit shocking” to find out so late that she had to get rid of the word, and opted to just take it out and not replace it.

“I want to leave space for people to shout and serve whatever they want to shout or serve,” she said.

“If I agree or if I disagree, you have to adhere by the rules anyhow. So I do understand that there are rules, however, I do respect that artists have to express themselves however they want.”

Malta are heading into the event with a chance of pulling off a shock win, with their odds of winning 10/1 ahead of the show, according to bookies Ladbrokes.

The Eurovision Song Contest 2025 final takes place on Saturday, May 17. It will be broadcast live on BBC One and BBC iPlayer with Graham Norton hosting and commentating for UK viewers.

On BBC Radio 2 and BBC Sounds, Scott Mills and Rylan will be leading the commentary. Coverage across the BBC will start at 8pm.
