The Eurovision final is taking place tonight with 26 countries hoping to take home their crown will all be gathered in Switzerland.

For Sweden, Eurovision has helped generate some of their biggest musical icons such as ABBA and Loreen who won the competition twice.

If KAJ win this time, that will mark the eighth win for Sweden which would make them the country with the most Eurovision wins.

As they currently share this title with Ireland, there is immense pressure for KAJ as they take on St Jakobshalle in Basel.

KAJ label themselves as a “comedy band” and are made up of three members, Kevin Holmström, Axel Åhman and Jakob NorrgĂ„rd.

The three of them have been close since childhood, but decided to start a band in 2009 at just 16-years-old.

Since then, the band have managed to release three albums and even produced two musicals, making them somewhat of a household name already in Sweden.

All of them were born in VörÄ, Ostrobothnia, Finland, a Swedish-speaking municipality.

They participated in Melodifestivalen 2025 and won with 164 points, hence them representing Sweden in this year’s Eurovision.

They are performing their song Bara bada bastu, which translates as ‘just sauna’. The song celebrates Finnish sauna culture, and its lyrics are in the VörĂ„ dialect of Finland Swedish.

In an interview on Good Morning Britain, KAJ shared: “We’ve been doing comedy for like 15 years, and we’ve never written a song about the sauna and we come from Finland so when we’ve got this chance we thought this is perfect, fit, now let’s represent the sauna culture.”

Sweden are currently the favourites to win Eurovision 2025, with odds of 10/11 according to Betway for them to take home the crown.

Speaking to the Press Association earlier in the week, Ahman said it is “very, very surreal” to be touted as the ones to watch, because the trio come from a small Swedish-speaking region of Finland.

He added that he did not care at first, but they have “stayed there (in the odds) and even risen a bit lately, so let’s see”.

“It’s exciting times, but anything can happen, we’ve seen that so many times (at Eurovision).”
