I remember seeing them in Andalusia side a lot..:)
A lot of these come from the Umayyad conquest of Andalusia during the middle ages. Tesselation is a heavy motif in historical arabic architecture.
These are called “Baldosa Hidráulica” in Spanish (literally hydraulic tile) [https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Cement_tile](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Cement_tile) due to the fact that they are made with an hydraulic press. Really cool and have also made a comeback in recent years.
my nan has the one on the bottom left except its all wood and the same colour, brown
Doesn’t stop my Madrid flat from having boring parquet floors, unfortunately.
