For context this is from the mind of a Londoner, I will NOT be taking an critiques of this as it is the only sensible way to divide England. (Although honestly I'm pretty sure East Anglia is not real and is actually just part of the Midlands in denial)

  1. wtf are those london borders. you are stealing land from the south

  2. Newcastle and Manchester are as distinct as Norwich and Bristol. Far more distinct than London suburbs to Home Counties

If you bracket the north together you should put east Anglia and arguably south west into the south.

(And east Anglia is certainly southern and not midlands)

    SW is too narrowly defined.

  3. I’d put Weymouth and Bristol in the south west. And the North needs to be divided more

  4. Growing up in Bristol, I always considered it the South West, indeed I’d argue the South West goes as far as Gloucester (although it gets blurry at some point around there). I would however, strongly refute the notion that Essex and Gloucestershire are in the same region of England. I’ve noticed a notable difference in culture between the south east and south west.

  5. As you said, it’s from the mind of a Londoner.

Who doesn’t know about the people of the West Country who have not spoken yet

  6. Making this post has honestly been a great way for me to gain more info about the regions of England I know not that much about

  7. Lincolnshire snd Birmingham are quite different in my opinion the East midlands in general row has a way different vibe to the west midlands.

  8. The only way it makes sense is to draw a line around everything you’ve coloured and move it away from Scotland and Wales. Perfect

  9. Is the south Pac-Maning the southwest or is the southwest torpedoing the south?

  10. how dare you not put up to wiltshire in south-west. It was part of early wessex!

Cornwall is it’s own region too!

  11. East Anglia would be ridiculously small population wise compared to the rest

  12. This is fine but it has some area called ‘the midlands’? Ive never heard of this place and im pretty sure everybody agrees is does not exist.

  13. Absolutely terrible. The South West goes up to Cheltenham and about Chippenham.

  14. Why can’t east Anglia just be called Anglia? Forgive me for my lack of intelligence

  15. How can “the north” be further south than northern wales.

  16. Gloucestershire fits in more with the midlands than it does the south. Its known as the south West because that’s the best fit for it. Therefore, your stupid map is stupidly stupid.

  17. Gloucestershire is not the south, it’s the Midlands, some would say south west but that’s the bit near Bristol.

  18. Can’t say I know where beds winds up here, I guess south is right? Tho I don’t really say we feel like south.

  19. These maps are so fucking boring I don’t give a flying fuck.

  20. Its sexy south and naughty north. And if you’re not calling them that then nothing makes sense.

  21. Everyone south of me is a southerner and Everyone north is a northerner, i carry a compass with me so i know what insults to use
