  1. Imo, they do good work with the tools they’re given. Our supreme court is nothing like America’s, it isn’t political and has no legislative authority. It exists solely to interpret what laws mean, and if they contradict. They came to the only conclusion they could given the laws and rules we had on the books, which is why for over a decade now people have been calling for explicitly trans-friendly laws: anyone with any interest and legal know-how saw this coming years away, unless new laws were passed. The Tories didn’t, then Labour didn’t, now here we are. And if we want it fixed, it won’t be by pursading the court that the law says something it doesn’t, it’ll be by passing a new one/set of them. Once again, the power is with the House of Commons and your MP, not the judges on the SC.

  2. You’re mad that they follow the law as it was written instead of in the US where the Supreme Court do whatever the fuck they want?

It talks all about how “we should pass laws to protect these people. However as the law stands, we have to come to this conclusion as the only logical one.”

Blame labour and the tories, not the Supreme Court.

  3. Wut?

You think the supreme court is a group of cartoon hedgehogs?

  4. The court’s job is to interpret the law, and I think they did it accurately in the trans case if that’s what you’re bent out of shape about. Your issue is with the law, which is transphobic, not the court correctly carrying out the transphobic law.

  5. OP, get over yourself. you’re acting like an entitled brat in these comments.

  6. You realise all they do is interpret the law? They don’t make or change the law they just look at it and figure out wtf it means. Blame the government for the laws not the court
