  1. Nowhere in the article does it state she is sorry for posting it. She admits it ‘wasn’t an acceptable thing to say’ but that can be interpreted as her not wanting to be in trouble for posting it, rather than true regret for inciting others to commit lethal hate crimes.

I’m not seeing any true remorse other than ‘I wish I wasn’t locked up for what I said.’

  2. I hope they increase her sentence. As the wife of a tory she called for the murder of thousands of innocent people who had nothing to do with it just because they are foreign, & she was proud of it. Sounds very tory to me.

  3. What an insane title, it’s amazing only natives can be considered racist in this country.

  4. Does anyone know what happened to the lady that was remanded in custody for buying eggs during the riots? Curious as to what happened to her.

  5. The only people that think her sentence is too harsh are people that see themselves getting done for what she’s getting charged for. Simples

  6. I thought prison time for posting on social media was a meme. UK is cooked.

  7. I am very happy she got the whole shebang. I spent the entire week holed up in my house where I wasn’t even safe .
We also had to check in regularly among ourselves and keep heads on a swivel.

Ruptured my psyche, that did. The drastic repercussions and counter protests in support of immigrants healed me back up.
I read the trials and sentences with great glee. Thank you UK

  8. Can’t do the time, don’t do the crime.

    Lock her up. Vile woman.

  9. I like how Northampton is an official derogatory term for a headline

  10. The amount of here people thinking calling to burn a building down with children in it is okay is depressing.

  11. Odd how many people are suggesting it was right she was locked up and yet we have had a labour MP punch a man and avoid jail. The consistency of our courts is ridiculous.

  12. I was doing jury service on a case in late 90’s where a guy killed 2 old ladys in Wolverhampton when he lost control of his Porsche. 70 plus in a 30 zone.

    He got 3 years.

  13. On what grounds is she appealing?

    She’s definitely guilty

  14. She never should have pled guilty or been charged. “for all I care” is not an incitement to violence, it is a statement that she’d feel no emotion if a theoretical violence happened.

It doesn’t make her a good person, but it being criminal really is pushing the limits of thought crimes.

Would/should someone be arrested for tweeting “someone can shoot trump, for all I care”? Because that’s about a third of the country jailed.

  15. Do I think she’s deserved to be sentenced? Yes. But a prison sentence over a really stupid tweet? Definitely not.

Ideally, she should receive a fine and a community service order. 31 months imprisonment for a tweet is insane considering there are people who are arrested with CSAM material who get much lower sentences. One guy a few months ago was caught with so much CSAM material the investigators ran out of time trying to count all of it but it was estimated he had 500,000 images. He was sentenced to 18 months in prison.

As cliché as it is for me to say, but the justice system in this country is a complete mess.

  16. By all means go around spouting racism, she’s free to do that. But calling for hotels to be burnt down with immigrants inside goes too far – there’s literally a law against it which has existed since the 80s. Most know where the line is and don’t cross it. Maybe she was emotionally overcome because of the murders, who knows? – however nobody in an immigration hotel did what rudakubana did, assisted him or was was privy to it.

  17. There’s no way this woman should have ever ended up in prison. It’s actually quite chilling.

“For all I care” is not an instruction. She’s probably an awful person, but not a criminal.
