Princess Eugenie’s new royal role ‘a devastating blow’ to Prince Harry

Princess Eugenie and Prince Harry once shared close ties even after the Sussexes exited their senior royal position.

While the daughter of Sarah Ferguson and Prince Andrew was not given similar privileges compared to her now US-based cousin – who had been fighting for his right to tax-payer funded security in UK – Eugenie has set a surprising new example, spoiling Harry’s plans.

Recently, Eugenie has notably stepped up for King Charles as she was bestowed a major new position with the King’s Foundation. At the same time, she has been showing her unconditional support to the charities she is a patron of.

On Saturday, the mum of two visited Horatio’s Garden, which created a garden at Salisbury District Hospital. It supports people who have suffered spinal injury by providing a nurturing environment for their well-being.

Eugenie, who is still not a working member of the royal family, left a lasting impression of the attendees with her down-to-earth appearance, solely dedicated to her work at hand.

A report by The Telegraph described that despite not being funded by the taxpayer, “the Princess, it seems, is carving out a new way of being a Royal patron”.

“There is no photo call or press release. [The publication’s] photographer is the only person taking pictures, unless you include those Horsley [assistant] is taking on her phone for social media, which the Princess oversees herself.”

The outlet also noted that Eugenie had taken aa day off from her full-time job as she usually does these visits on the side. For her appearance, it stated that she “has no team of people in the background curating her public image, no one overseeing her hair and make-up”. She was accompanied by her secretary, who is shared by her mum Fergie and sister, Princess Beatrice.

The outing had come after the 35-year-old royal had received a major honour from King Charles to mentor young creatives for the King’s charity organisation.

It also marks a significant moment for in Eugenie’s relationship with Harry as she foiled the Duke of Sussex’s claims about continuing with royal duties without being a ‘working royal’.

Eugenie and sister Princess Beatrice’s security was taken away in 2011 but they get state-funded security when they are on official royal engagements.

Given the support Eugenie has been showing to the monarch, it is possible that the King would soon reward her for her loyalty, just like Prince Edward and Duchess Sophie have received in recent times.

Eugenie may have earned a great favour which she could have used in the future to support her family, especially her father, Andrew… something that could have benefited Harry as well.

The Duke, who has been left devastated for losing his connection to the royal family especially his cancer-stricken father, may now be having regrets for losing his final connection to the royals.
