In a statement released early on Monday afternoon, the management of the Flemish public broadcaster VRT says that it is demanding full transparency from the European Broadcasting Union (EBU) with regard to the televoting that took place during the final of this year’s Eurovision Song Contest.

The VRT released its statement after the Spanish public broadcaster RTVE demanded that the EBU carry out an investigation into the results of Saturday evening’s televoting. RTVE finds it strange that despite protest against Israel’s participation in the Eurovision Song Contest, the Israeli contestant received the maximum number of points from televoters in Spain.

    These three vote for Israël.

    Of the remaining 27, 10 already were boycotting the Eurovision due to the current situation. The 17 others spread their votes, in a way that none voted for the same country twice.

    Israël has three votes against a lot of 1s.

    I think this is most certainly what must have happened, in an oversimplified manner. Add to that that one can vote 20 times if they really want to spend the money.

  14. VRT zaagt dat Eurovisie te politiek is, maar tegelijk klagen ze dat Israël 12 punten kreeg van de kijkers. Terwijl hun eigen “objectieve” vakjury die vrouw 0 punten gaf puur uit politieke afkeer. Wat moet je tegenwoordig doen om “vakjury” te worden?

    Zij maken het dus politiek, en dan klagen ze dat het politiek wordt.

    De vrouw kon goed zingen en bracht een goede show maar blijkbaar verdient ze toch 0 punten? De hypocrisie druipt eraf en het verwondert me dat niemand anders dat opmerkt.

Dat ze eens wat minder zagen en in het vervolg intern een groep of artiest selecteren die al wat populariteit heeft op zomerfestivals bij een jonger publiek want dat was waarschijnlijk het publiek dat het meest stemt. Waar haalden ze in godsnaam die kandidaten vandaan? De helft waren nepobaby’s (de zus van Metejoor en de zoon van Gunter Neefs). Waarschijnlijk heeft die rode Sebastiaan ook familie dat bij VRT werkt.

    Get your shit together. Ik weet het wel van Israel maar Oostenrijk heeft wel gewonnen maar daar spreekt niemand meer over.

  16. The EBU has no credibility whatsoever when they immediately banned Russia after their Ukraine invasion “because it is not compatible with their democratic values” and they keep Israel even though they are killing children by the thousands.

    I really don’t mind about song contests, I would like Belgium and Europe pushing Israel with economic sanctions and weapons embargo.
