Yesterday I walked the perimeter of The Brockwell Wall to document all the new protest graffiti. Along the way I discovered some interesting information from disgruntled locals, which I shall write up soon.   2. I utterly despise people who move to an area and then demand the council stop running events because it would mildly inconvenience them.

    To all of these people- please boycott Lambeth and London by fucking off to some boring town in Surrey/ up North where you won’t need to worry about your fields and parks being taken over for a couple of weeks a year so that others can have fun.

  9. It’s a tough one for the council as they get much needed funds from the letting the park out but there is no trace of where the money goes from events at brockwell.
    But Lambeth council hasn’t got the greatest track record in being good with cash !

  12. Is this brockwell park? Is the children’s playground near the pond still accessible?  Would hate to spend 30mins travelling there with 2 kiddos only to find it closed lol. Had that issue with Battersea during guy Fawkes fireworks lol

  14. There should be a giant collection pot for the local idiots to put money in for the upkeep of the park. Or perhaps they can nominate their council tax bill to have an extra couple of grand added to it so that the council can afford to maintain the park without having to sell the space.

    this one’s the best. because the wall is not by any stretch of the imagination “fucked”. at most some superficial vandalism causing no actual damage. does not impair the function of the wall.

    so if we the reader accept the comparison in the graffiti as valid, then the real message is that actually the park isn’t harmed in any meaningful way by the event. perhaps not what the writer intended to say.

  18. At 80 quid a ticket and locking off massive chunks of the park from the locals, can you blame them ?

    Don’t get me started in the price of food and drink once you even get inside.

  19. The council is struggling for money, also if we kill all the festivals in London we ll have none if a few years (outdoors).
    They use the park for one month and at the first sign of rain (which we get a lot of) the grass is back to normal.
    And it is a fun time to have world class acts at your door step.

    Stop killing London festivals because you claim you care about your parks!

    Some peoples whole personality is to protest against anything. How is this any different from middle aged nimbys?

  21. I think fair enough that these day festivals that are extorrrrrrtionate take the peoples parks away for the summer and fucks up the area.

    Are these festivals sponsors like Uber One contributing to the council? Nah they ain’t even paying taxes

    The first is funny for the message, the second for the execution.
