Crude oil prices in India rose on Tuesday, driven by increased demand in the spot market. West Texas Intermediate crude traded higher in New York, while Brent crude saw a slight decline.
New Delhi, May 20 (PTI) Crude oil prices on Tuesday rose by Rs 12 to Rs 5,311 per barrel in futures trade as participants increased their positions following a firm spot demand.
On the Multi Commodity Exchange, crude oil for June delivery traded higher by Rs 12 or 0.23 per cent at Rs 5,311 per barrel in 10,838 lots.
Analysts said the rise in bets by participants kept crude oil prices higher in futures trade.
Globally, West Texas Intermediate crude was trading 0.05 per cent higher at USD 62.72 per barrel while Brent crude was trading 0.23 per cent lower at USD 65.39 per barrel in New York.
