Polish Prime Minister Donald Tusk announced the plan on Sunday, May 18, via social media, calling it good news for the growing number of Poles who choose the Balkans for their summer vacations.

Full details are expected to be released on Tuesday, following the weekly meeting of the Polish government.

The service will offer direct connections from Poland to the coastal city of Rijeka in Croatia, running four times a week without the need to change trains.

The route will pass through the Czech Republic (Ostrava), Austria (Vienna), and Slovenia (Ljubljana). Major Polish cities along the route are expected to include Warsaw, Katowice, Opoczno, and Włoszczowa.

Initial pricing suggests tickets will start at around 200 Polish złoty (under €50 or approximately $55). The full journey, depending on departure point, is expected to take up to 12 hours.
