“The conditions “severely impacted” production in Italy, Spain and France, resulting in “extremely low” production volumes, an international wine body has said.
In the midst of the shortage, demand is expected to recover to near levels seen before the coronavirus pandemic, the International Organisation of Vine and Wine (OIV) said in a statement on Thursday.”
Oh no! Not the wine! However will we survive
We don’t own a lot (~400 plants) since we only make wine for friends & family but we did lose our entire crop of grapes this year. We grow organically so we expect some loss every year but this is the first time we lost our entire crop. Weather conditions were so unpredictable and mildew got the best of us.
Good thing Australian wine producers just got tariff-free access to the UK market just in time for the price of European wines to skyrocket.
I hear the US makes great wines, why not just import them?
Meanwhile we had so many grapes that the processing facilities clogged.
