1.5°C Paris Climate Agreement target may be too high for polar ice sheets and sea level rise. Research led by Durham University, UK, suggests the target should instead be closer to 1°C to avoid significant losses.

  5. Even the 30 year rolling average is above 1°C now, and by a lot. So unless they have a time machine or global scale, efficient carbon sequestration projects, then this ship has sailed.

    maybe we can use conspiracy to make them fix the problem? The ET’s have hacked our technology using a deep space probe like ʻOumuamua with a super intelligent AI that is programmed to terraform the planet using native technology for their inbound colonizing reptillian fleet . We must fight the terraforming reptilian super sentient AI… also it wants to spread the gay agenda forgot to get the real activating stuff in there.

  8. We passed that threshold a long time ago. I expect 2C by 2029 and 3C less than a decade after that.

    All I can say is… spend as much time making the most of your lives as possible.

  9. We are at 1.5 currently. With 4.5 degrees pretty much locked in, a 50 percent jump
    In warming expected from the ipcc due to massive feedbacks. Recent papers have concluded 1.5c as impossible, and even 2.5c.

  11. The arctic has gotten hit hard. The Antarctic – not as much, largely due to trade winds. It’s inevitable that the warmer ocean waters will hit the Antarctic, and there are huge ice masses that will shear away. The fissures have been widening now for years. This is a game-changer for sea-level rise. Sadly it may take an irreversible event like this to wake up many people.
