LUBBOCK, Texas (KCBD) – Today, the UMC Health System announced it is a recipient of the Outstanding Patient Experience Award for the fifth year in a row.
The award is given out by Healthgrades, which is the No. 1 site Americans use when searching for a doctor or a hospital. The award puts the UMC Health System in the top 15% of hospitals across the country for patient experience.
“UMC Health System is honored to receive this national recognition five years in a row. Receiving this award truly reflects the trust our patients have in UMC, the strong culture and high-quality patient care that we provide,” Landon Hood, chief experience officer, said in a release. “We continue to strive to be the best hospital, and this award is a testament to the hard work and dedication our staff provides each and every day.”
Healthgrades determines recipients by a scoring method that includes 10 patient experience measures. The measures range from the care the patient thinks they received, staff communication, cleanliness and more.
