    President Donald Trump’s lengthy phone call with Vladimir Putin yielded no major breakthrough and led some European officials to accuse the U.S. president of handing his Russian counterpart a win.

    The leaders spoke for two hours on Monday as part of Washington’s latest attempt to bring the three-year conflict with Ukraine to an end.

  17. No surprise. It was already agreed. Make America great again means invading North and Central America + Greenland. Make USSR great again focus on invading Europe. China has the rest of the world to build their new Silk Road + reuniting China (Taiwan and other neighbour territories included).

    If he’d ask part of germany, he’d give that too, because “they don’t buy american cars, you don’t see one single american in germany, why should we defend them? Who prevented them from building an army to defend themselves?”

    I think he’s not even a russian asset at this point, he simply does NOT want to negotiate. He wants stuff like he had in the middle east. To visit places, people to say hello, smile, give him money, planes, let him build golf resorts (how many did he announce? Qatar, saudi arabia, vietnam, and still more coming).

    He’s just SO bored of the responsibilities of presidency, he just wants the fun parts.

    I think that the European leadership knows precisely what they’re dealing with — an existential threat to democracy. They’re _saying_ they’re shocked as a diplomatic matter.

  44. I am going to start assuming that anyone who is shocked that Trump sides with Putin is as stupid as he is. There is nothing shocking about this. This has been his MO since the day he took office.

    I’m more shocked that the EU still thinks the US can be relied upon to settle this conflict. Doesn’t matter if Trump straight up says “Russia has 24 hours to leave or we send troops”, he will simply call up his buddy on the phone and change his mind the next day.

    Stop fucking relying on him. Stop giving him a seat at the table. Stop being…fucking surprised he sides with russia.
