Meghan Markle, fresh from celebrating her seven-year wedding anniversary, has just released the second-to-last episode of her hot new podcast, “Confessions of a Female Founder.”

In this latest installment of her series focused on female entrepreneurship, titled “Bootstrapped and Booming with Kitsch’s Cassandra Morales Thurswell,” the Duchess of Sussex and owner of the lifestyle brand As Ever, joined forces with Cassandra Thurswell, the mastermind behind Kitsch — an internationally acclaimed company known for its sustainable beauty and hair products.

During the intimate conversation, Meghan Markle and Cassandra dive into the challenges they face juggling the roles of motherhood and business moguls. They openly share their personal battles, with Cassandra confessing that for years she grappled with the dual responsibilities of being a mom and CEO, citing severe “post-partum anxiety” in the beginning.

Cassandra shared how she naively expected motherhood to blend seamlessly with her professional life, saying, “I had my daughter, I thought everything was going to be just so easy,” but reality hit hard. She continued, detailing her struggles, “I would continue to just go on as my normal self, breastfeed at the office and do all these things, and I had a real reality check.”

She recalls her intense anxiety following childbirth, highlighting how her husband had to become more involved during a critical moment for their burgeoning business. Cassandra reflects, “I had some really intense post-partum anxiety, my husband really had to step in, and this was when we were really growing quickly, and it was such a crippling growth period for me…it wasn’t until she was seven years old that I was like ‘I’m okay’,” reports The Mirror.

Meghan Markle opened up about the reality of motherhood, contrasting it with her pre-baby expectations and acknowledging the added strain of Royal life. “I will say for myself, especially when they are baby babies,” Meghan said.

“And yes the crying – before I was a mom, and I’ve always wanted to be a mom, but before I was a mom, I was ‘Oh gosh, I’m going to give a speech with a baby on my hip. I had a whole vision…and you fast forward – granted I had a lot of external things happening at the time I had both pregnancies and both babies – but it was not the way I envisioned it.”

In their conversation, Meghan and Cassandra also delved into how Cassandra’s business thrived through ‘bootstrapping,’ relying solely on personal funds and earnings rather than outside investments.

Following the podcast, Meghan delighted fans by posting a heartfelt collage on Instagram to celebrate seven years with Prince Harry, featuring adorable, previously unseen pictures of their children, Archie and Lilibet.

She expressed her gratitude in the caption: “Seven years of marriage. A lifetime of stories. Thanks to all of you (whether by our side, or from afar) who have loved and supported us throughout our love story – we appreciate you. Happy anniversary!”.

Confessions of a Female Founder is an eight-part series featuring Meghan Markle, who recently launched lifestyle brand As Ever and Netflix series With Love, Meghan. The series offers insider tips from successful female entrepreneurs on how they transformed small ideas into “successful” companies.

Produced by Lemonada Media, the series includes candid conversations with businesswomen like Whitney Wolfe Herd, founder of dating app Bumble, and Reshma Sajauni, founder of Girls Who Code. The response to Confessions of a Female Founder has been mixed, with one critic labeling the series as “sycophantic” and another dismissing it as “45 minutes of platitudes”.

Despite the criticism, the first episode made it to the Top 10 overall podcast charts and secured the number one spot among business podcasts, although it has since fallen off the chart.

Meghan Markle has made several candid revelations in the series, including her struggle with pre-eclampsia, a “rare and scary” condition following one of her pregnancies. In the second episode, she bravely discussed her 2020 miscarriage, telling her guest, “”I’ll bring this up if you are comfortable talking about it… I have spoken about the miscarriage we experienced.

And I think in some parallel way, when you have to learn to detach from the thing that you have so much promise and hope for and to be able to be OK at a certain point to let something go, something go that you plan to love for a long time. “This is Meghan’s second venture into the world of podcasting, after her first series Archetypes was cancelled by Spotify after just one 12-episode season. Launched in 2022, Archetypes featured Meghan and celebrity friends like Serena Williams, Mindy Kaling, and Mariah Carey, discussing labels often used against women, such as “diva”, “singleton”, and “bimbo”.
