  1. Wasn’t cromwell a bit of a dictator for the UK he did united the whole thing if I remember correctly so what am I missing ?

  2. The map is misleading. A king is a dictator. Of course, I’m talking about kings, not crowned celebrities

  3. Barryland had a dictator in the past, Oliver and Richard Cromwell

  4. cromwell?

Like even if we exclude monarchs, that britain thing is simply untrue

  5. Never?

Fucking hell, Henry VIII and Oliver Cromwell came as close as fucking as!

  6. I know this is british propaganda, but what was Chromwell if not a dictator?

  7. Based and Carolus Rex and Gustav Vasa were not dictators but the personifications of the nation and the will of God-pilled.

  8. Denmark is not true. Jacob Brønnum Scavenius Estrup ruled as a dictator in all but name from 1875-1894. Basicly because he had the support of the king and because of Denmarks constitutional mechanics he could rule by decreees with backing from the Danish house of lords(landstinget). But having nowhere near backing in the lower house.

He is known for putting up the railroads, founding the city of Esbjerg, and even though he was anti-reform, he somehow managed to modernize Denmark at the same time. Sort of like a benevolent dictator. Which is also why his legacy is quite disputed. Basicly a conservative dictator, that also managed to move the country forward. He did good shit and bad shit.

  9. Willem 1 tried to be an absolute monarch around 1815, but failed in an absolute way. And now we’re all stuck with Belgium

  10. Oliver Cromwell would qualify as a dictator, no? Also it’s not like monarchs with actual power are any different in practice.

  11. Where the 2westeurope4u crowd appears to be pretty knowledgeable about UK history, showing that their contempt comes from knowledge and not from prejudice.

  12. What kind of yankee-level education do you get in Britain?

  13. Quisling? Pétain? And in general all the regimes that collaborated with the Nazis? They weren´t very democratic either.

  14. OP, your spelling (it’s “whoops”) is about as accurate as this map, let’s be honest. Been at the Carling tonight have we?

  15. Cromwell? Also, what separates quasi absolute monarchy to a dictatorship?

  16. Wouldn’t say never for Sweden either 1600-1700 the kings was ordering wars and says “Fight or die by my hand” , sounds pretty dictatory to me 🙂 And probably all the kings before that too

  17. From about 1682 up until 1721 the king of sweden had absolute/dictatorial power, and then again (but more limited) from 1772 to 1809 so this map is kinda bullshit.

  18. errr a certain part of Germany definitely had a dictatorial system way after 1945…

  19. Are we all gonna ignore Oliver Cromwell?

Also, there’s a lot of Brits who don’t know how to spell his name. Wtf
