  1. I’d live pretty much anywhere rent free if I’m honest.

  2. Bro I waste £22000 each year on rent. What do you think?

  3. These houses would be pretty well insulated from sound because cost of doing so would have been covered by the airport

  4. I lived near a major airport in a big city.  It was not that bad, you get used to the sound of planes and they tend to have quieter hours overnight.

So 100% would for free rent. I mean you can always move if you hate it?

  5. Bro i am living behind the do&go and sometimes its nightmare when plans take off from this side.
Landing is fine but take off nah their air burst too much loud

  6. Heathrow has 3 or 4 different approach routes. Sometimes planes come from the south, sometimes northeast, northwest, etc. The airport changes the approach vector day by day so neighborhoods don’t have constant planes overhead. So we get planes overhead maybe two days a week.

As close as you’ll be, you may hear planes every day. But I’m sure some days the sound will be noticeably less than others, depending on the flight path that day. Which is good for you.

I would do it. You can always buy earplugs with the money saved on rent. 😆

  7. I live just off the bottom edge of that picture. It’s fine. Great transport links (seriously, one of the best things about living here is just how easy it is to get away). Really infuriating when you have to fly from Gatwick, though.

In fairness, I’m just off the flight path so don’t find it as noticeable, say, as someone on the right-hand edge or just off that edge of the picture. The exact where does make quite a difference.

So yeah, I would live that close for free, because I’m currently paying to.

  8. I visit Mrytle Avenue on the odd ocassion from Felixstowe, Suffolk – I’m quite a budding Aviation photographer for both civil and military planes so I would love to live there!

  9. Yes and you’ll be on the Piccadilly Line & close to M25 so can travel for work easily

  10. I used to live next to an airport (the fence was my back garden fence). I would, for sure.

  11. I would live right next to the busiest runway for free rent.

  12. Plane spotters and avgeeks would absolutely love this, including me

  13. I live very close to Myrtle avenue, about a ten min stroll. It’s crazy how close the planes get to the houses. Where I am isn’t too bad, you get used to the noise quite quickly, cars with loud stereos and mopeds are far more annoying. My wife grew up round here too, and she said kids knew when it was time to go in for dinner as Concorde would fly over at 6pm

  14. Buy yourself some earplugs and noise cancelling headphones and pocket the rest

  15. I lived (rented) and worked in close proximity to this area.

Absolutely would take it for free rent.

You get used to the sound of planes and IIRC Heathrow has a community fund that covers the glazing cost for houses in close proximity to this area.

You’ll be surprised by how close you’ll be to parks, creeks and lakes and there are some really nice cycle paths around here too

For connectivity, besides being close to Heathrow, you have Hatton Cross for Piccadilly line, Feltham for Southwestern and you’re close to Hounslow and Staines for more comprehensive shopping.

I think you have H26 and 203 as your regular buses in this area that tend to have good frequency but they aren’t always double decker.

There were talks of some plans going in to have more warehouses come up in this area which would eat up some of the green cover, but last I recall residents were against it.

  16. My sister’s friend lived super close to Heathrow and she said her windows would shake every time a plane took off.

  17. lol…..I literally live near there. It’s actually not too bad? Just boring. So yes I would live there rent free. Hoping to move soon though

  18. Lmao, I’d live in a fucking trailer if it was rent free and had all basic amenities.

  19. propbably depending on the accomodation. I used to live spitting distance from Southampton airport and the railway yard. after a few weeks you tone 95% of it out. i know Heathrow is a different league so thats why the accomodation would count for me.

  20. What kind of question is this?

If you don’t want free rent in London there’s 10 million others that do.

    DM me the details please!

  21. I would live in Heathrow baggage collection for free rent.

I would live in Heathrow plan wash section for free rent.

I would live in Heathrow Terminal 4 for free rent.

  22. I used to live on the Concorde flight path and the whole house shook when it went over, normal planes aren’t that bad

  23. Lived in Isleworth right on the flight path of the Concorde for two years, twice a day like clockwork when I was a kid. I’d do it in a heartbeat just to be back in London 💙

  24. Yes, then I’d use all the money saved to sound proof the house

  25. I’m deaf, so the noise wouldn’t be an issue for me. I also love plane spotting and flying, so probably a win win! Why, do you have a house you can rent me for free, because if so- I’m there!

  26. I would never miss a flight 😂 then realise all my flights fly out of Stansted or Gatwick

  27. Goddamned right, I would. But, also, I’m an airplane nerd who wants the fuck out of the U.S.

  28. Close to London and Heathrow, people pay a fortune for that

  29. I’d live on the runway for free and so would many others…

  30. I’m a massive aviation nerd so sure sounds awesome!

I’m sure I could learn to sleep with earplugs for £17k a year

  31. I’d live in a bungalow next to the runway itself if it was free
