I always found it “funny” that today there is a great attention about stereotypes and racial issues but not for Italians.
In England, where football takes racist issues very seriously, it is common to name Antonio Conte as “The Godfather” or as Don Antonio because he is a Southerner. In America, [it is funny to joke about Italian gestures and way to speak](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GOG9OMjc5eI) but don’t even try to make fun of the Chinese/Korean/Japanese way of talking or you’re gonna get a shitstorm.
Strange double standard.
There are stereotypes everywhere in the world and generally are not wery uptodate. Those ones are more typical of central italy, it is difficult to define passionate the inhabitants of Lombardy or Piedmont. One is particularly true: fashion : Italians are generally well dressed in comparison with the rest of Europe and certaily would not wear socks and sandals like a standard German ( stereotype).
