  1. Maybe we should just start wearing a pink triangle too…

We really need the public help here to fight this, we need help…

  2. Well, the sooner they start doing this the sooner it’ll blow up in their face

  3. Not the best title, it isnt just Trans people they’ll be asking

Theyre gonna be asking ANYONE if you arent female passing by whatever any given persons metric is.

    But protect Women, ammirite?

  4. Which they won’t, but trans people will still spread fear throughout their community about it either way

  5. My son is a trans man – they are not going to be happy when he is in the ladies.

This trans hate is escalating, why, as a society are we going backwards with equality. For fucks sakes, can’t we just live and let live?

  6. Shops told they can question women who don’t fit the expected femininity standards.

  7. How will they know they are trans and not just masculine looking women or feminine looking men?

  8. Don’t get it TBH. Changing rooms have staff in attendance and one goes into a wee private cubicle to change.

What does it matter what is (not) swinging between one’s legs?

  9. Perhaps shops will just invest in better privacy and just make all changing rooms for everyone??

  10. Oh, goody goody gumdrops, I’ve never felt more safe than I do now! These right wing, patriarchy serving morons really don’t realise what a massive own goal this is, do they? Or perhaps they do know, but just don’t care… The only goal here is clearly to cause as much distress and pain to trans women as possible, and if some cis women get caught in the crossfire, guess we should just see that as “taking one for the team” eh? There’s going to be way more “friendly fire” casualties in this absolutely pointless, sadistic war on trans women than actual trans women themselves. Absolute unfeeling ghouls the lot of them.

  11. It’s fucking stupid – I used to work in the fitting rooms in Next and I had a trans woman come in to try on very ordinary business clothes and shoes (we did size 9 shoes so were often popular with trans women). She went in the changing room, tried on clothes ad when she handed back what she didn’t want she thanked me for not making a fuss. This was 25 years ago and it didn’t occur to me that a fuss was needed to be made!

We’d get men nipping in to the rooms on occasion to hand women different items or to give opinions on clothes. We’d even send customers up to menswear when it was exceptionally busy to use their changing rooms.

Staff in shops are neither paid enough nor given the correct training to start weeding out people via their birth certificates. Just let people try on clothes in peace!

  12. Bought a shirt 2 weeks ago. The changing rooms were unisex, and not staffed. Maybe I don’t frequent shops where this would be an issue.

  13. Let’s do away with male and female and just introduce. Kock and Kunt it would be allot simpler and easier to check .

  14. I can confidently predict hardly anyone using the men’s changing rooms will be challenged. Any woman who doesn’t match any self-selected guard’s ideal of a woman will be challenged

  15. Nobody asks now and nobody is going to start asking. Just typical Torygraph (which is turning into Reformgraph) whipping up hatred.

  16. Ostracising springs to mind. And so it begins….

  17. I wonder how they may try to prove someone wrong. I cannae think of any non invasive ways to prove someone isn’t the sex they say they are. Not legally anyway.

  18. This is absurd. The EHRC are tying themselves in knots and coming out with stupid notions. I don’t believe there is any way this will stand.

  19. I’m a cis woman with a naturally deeper voice who isn’t particularly “feminine” and even I’m worried about what’s to come.

They’re so eager to attack trans ~people~ women that they’re willing to sacrifice the peace of cis women in the process.

It’s so horrible, and creates a culture of trying to “out” anyone that doesn’t fit into any particular person’s perceived gender norms.

Women with PCOS, women with more body hair, tall women, women with deep voices, women with large feet are all going to fall under the “excuse me, should you really be here” scrutiny and it’s gross.

People like JK Rowling campaigned for this and I’m also pretty sure that if she was accosted in a bathroom and accused of being a man she would be absolutely howling angry.

Normal people – trans and cis – are going to suffer.

  20. You can’t always tell, so every woman and man needs to get ready for a full on genital inspection by order of arch cunt Rowling.

  21. This is to protect women. It’s a great initiative imo

  22. How could they even know if the person they are asking is trans? The headline implying they can ask for trans people’s biological sex, but in reality that’ll just mean asking for anyone’s biological sex. Based on what? The length of their hair? Their build? And how do people prove this, do we need to start carrying our birth certificate around to go shopping or go to the toilet?

The whole thing is ridiculous. It feels like it’s part of a wider plan to push women, trans or otherwise, who are not “feminine enough” out of public view if they don’t conform to “traditional” standards. But yeah, protect women and all that.

  23. Can is not the same as must. Shops can ask you your star sign doesn’t mean that they are going to. Just means that if a man is blatantly taking the piss they can be challenged and not be able to hide behind protection that was meant for others

  24. Well this is bloody stupid. The trans scare is the same BS as the gay scare of the 70’s and 80’s.

Furthermore, it’s all unenforceable, as how the fuck will you know for sure without checking the contents of someone’s pants?!

Additionally, even if you could have a look, can you tell the different if someone has had surgery?

    Fucking Terf bullshit.

  25. What on earth is going on here?

I’ll admit I am very ignorant to the struggles and fear people are facing. If it wasn’t for Reddit id be even more so.

Do trans people have x-ray vision and can see through cubicles? Fuck sake
