Shunk, Pa. — A woman launched into an unhinged rant about ancient artifacts and the vice president when confronted by police for allegedly fleeing and returning to the scene of a domestic dispute.

Brandy Lynn Vroman, 45, of Shunk, was charged with driving under the influence, drug possession, harassment, and disorderly conduct misdemeanors following an incident that unfolded in the evening hours of April 25.

Earlier in the day, police visited Vroman’s home for a welfare check on the woman, but she was nowhere to be found. Troopers from PSP Montoursville informed the trooper on scene, Steven Marianelli from PSP Laporte, that Vroman had recently been involved in a fight at the home, after which she threatened self-harm and fled the scene in a blue Ford Edge.

Around 10:45 p.m., Marianelli was dispatched to the Shunk home again after the homeowner said Vroman returned in her car, and had allegedly been “yelling, screaming, and trying to enter the residence.”

The victim told police he locked his home’s doors out of fear that Vroman would attack him.

Marianelli and Trooper Anthony Pisano arrived around 11:10 p.m. and reported seeing a blue Ford Edge parked in the driveway while Vroman stood on the porch.

Vroman, who was “visibly irate,” ran up to the troopers and “started to yell random words about the government, ancient artifacts, bank robberies, and needed to speak with Vice President JD Vance,” according to Marianelli.

As she spoke, Vroman’s voice sounded hoarse, presumably from yelling and screaming, police say. Her eyes allegedly appeared to be bloodshot and watery, with pinpoint pupils.

Despite the troopers’ orders, Vroman allegedly refused to step away from them and calm down. She then assumed a “bladed fighting stance” toward Pisano, and was immediately placed in handcuffs, Marianelli said.

The woman reportedly told troopers she was a medical marijuana user and had smoked methamphetamine that day. Police searched a black backpack Vroman was wearing and found a small brown bottle of liquid, which she said was liquid THC. Marianelli reported she had not been prescribed the drug. Additionally, she allegedly refused to have her blood drawn for testing.

Vroman was held in the Columbia County Prison for nearly three weeks before posting her $15,000 bail in surety bonds. Her preliminary hearing took place on May 14 where each of her charges were approved for trial.
