Princess Eugenie paid tribute to Princess Diana as she made an appearance at the Buckingham Palace Royal Garden Party on May 19.

Supporting Kate Middleton and Prince William at the palace’s final garden party of the season, Princess Eugenie showed off her diamond and sapphire earrings.

The $20,000 earrings were designed by Garrard, which has a special connection to Diana as well as the late Queen Elizabeth II.

Princess Eugenie bejeweled herself with a sparkle tribute to Princess Diana as she stepped out at Buckingham Palace’s final garden party of the season. Supporting her cousin Prince William and a butter yellow dress-clad Kate Middleton at the Buckingham Palace Royal Garden Party—the Princess of Wales’s first such event since 2023—Eugenie showed off a pair of $20,000 earrings with a special tie to the royal family.

Per a photo shared on Reddit, the Princess of York tucked her auburn hair behind her ears to show off her elegant 18-carat Garrard earrings, as first reported by Marie Claire. The luxurious floral design, which included a lotus-like ombré coloring set with white gold as well as vivid blue and turquoise sapphires gradually transitioning into white diamonds, is reportedly part of the London-based jeweler’s Lotus Flower collection.

A statement piece for her garden party appearance, Princess Eugenie’s earrings also have a meaningful connection to the royal family. In 1843, Queen Victoria appointed Garrard as the royal family’s first official crown jeweler—a position they held until 2007. The brand has crafted some of the royal family’s most iconic and expensive jewelry pieces, including the imperial state crown King Charles wore for his 2023 coronation.

Garrard also crafted iconic tiaras like Queen Alexandra’s Kokoshnik Tiara as well as The Girls of Great Britain and Ireland Tiara—both well-known designs that Queen Elizabeth II wore during her reign. In addition, Garrard designed Princess Diana’s engagement ring–another opulent design using both diamonds and sapphires—that now belongs to Kate Middleton.

While Princess Eugenie’s Garrard earrings aren’t part of the royal collection, her wearing the jewelry shows her connection to the crown while stepping up to support them even as a non-working royal. According to Hello!, Kate and William invited members of the royal family to help them host the highly-publicized event. In addition to Eugenie, who also donned a printed Rixo dress and a wide-brimmed navy blue hat for the garden party, Zara Tindall, Prince Edward, and Sophie, Duchess of Edinburgh also made an appearance.
