  1. It seems Hamas have been successful in the strategy they set out on two years ago.

Israel has spent its international standing trying to defeat Hamas and return the Hostages, while Hamas stands behind its demands since October 8th which are practically an Israeli surrender:

    1. Hamas remains in power (recently amended to has a thin veneer of a ‘technocrat’ government while Hamas rearms)

    2. Israel leaves Gaza and ends the war

    3. The world pays to have Gaza rebuilt

    4. Gaza’s borders are opened so priority rearmament can commence.

Hamas is so well positioned behind Gaza’s population and the international organisations that parrot its views via local double-employees that the only way to defeat it is for Israel to become a pariah.

For Israel it has been a lose-lose geopolitical situation since October 7th and it seems Hamas is on its way to victory. Even the cost of 55,000 dead out of 2.1 million Gazans (approximately 4%) is negligible, as hamas leaders describe [in their documents ](https://www.washingtonpost.com/world/2024/06/12/hamas-death-toll-gaza-sinwar-messages/)

So Israel will continue to try do defeat Hamas, which will hide away until Israel is sanctioned and alone, flailing furiously at a force that still commands significant popularity among Palestinians and will continue to do so.

It leaves Israel a cruel choice – abandon its principles and committ actual 50% deaths genocide, or surrender thus losing everything to the most effective media soft power manipulation campaign in history. The very one Hamas set out on 20 months ago.

  2. Israel wouldn’t be in this situation if Netanyahu had stuck to the stage 2 ceasefire and made a genuine effort to get an agreement with Hamas to disarm and leave the Strip.

Instead, returning to war would vastly undermine the Israeli position, regardless of the merits.

  3. No review on the trade relationship with the Gulf backers of genocide in Sudan if its humanity that moves you

  4. What is Israel’s end goal of this shit? Why do they continue when it’s clear the world is against them?
