I see there's a ferry but I'm worried about making the connection from plane to ferry.

Or better to just drive from Bergen? We would be driving on 14 June (Google says the trip would take 14 hours, the hotel website estimates 4). Would rather take a ferry/speedboat but the last ferry I can find leaves at 2pm and if there's a flight delay… :/

Driving is estimated to about 4 hours. As there is a ferry on the way, it may take a little longer if you have to wait for the ferry. As the ferry is part of E39 it will run quite frequently.

There is a speed boat, it takes four hours. It’s a nice trip.

How’d you end up with 14 hours driving?
From Bergen to Balestrand, 6899 via E39 and Fv55. 3 hr 34 min (207 km).

It is also possible to drive E16 to Vinje and Rv13 (Vikafjellet) to Vangsnes. Then the car ferry from Vangsnes to cross Sognefjorden. This took approximately 4 hours if I remember it correctly.
