Good title for this, honestly.
I remember when these “rocket lob” videos first started appearing and lots of armchair experts were decrying how useless they were, I kept trying to link old US Army manuals about how to do this exact thing with an Apache in the event of a Russian invasion of Europe – the appropriate targets being areas of enemy concentration, such as staging grounds, crossroads, infantry in the open, etc.
We’re just so used to seeing wars fought with air superiority that most observers have forgotten about (or never learned about) these tactics for contested airspaces.
I can’t be the only one instinctively moving my finger to the “u” key, in order to follow the missile trajectory.
If only they could strap a GoPro to one of the rockets with a “Return to Sender” on it so we can get a better view
