Elgin Air Force Base (where a CIA base is situated), is the most active settlement on social media, including Reddit. Are we even surprised? The CIA has also been caught using fake accounts to spread anti-Cuban propaganda on Twitter. On top of that, you have Russia, which has the same political alignment as the CIA and USA (capitalism), although with the primary goal of destabilisation.
Clearly, most of this destabilisation is coming from the United States. Ireland is facing the same meddling that the global south has since the Second World War
considering 75% of Irish web activity is bots, when I see a faceless nameless comment on something I tend to assume it’s a bot

However does anyone else find the Journal.ie coverage of certain hot topics a little disconcerting?
Perhaps the Journal’s model of funding, (i.e taking money from the government, EU, Google, Foreign Philanthropic organisations etc.), leaves them unable to tackle issues with any level of impartiality or even an open mindedness to explore both sides of an argument.
Because I don’t think anyone could argue that their “Fact Checker” programme has any validity at all. Utter Balderdash. That’s just my opinion.
