The Federal Bureau of Investigation secured a dismissal of a lawsuit from two former agents alleging that the government’s outside employment restriction policy is unlawful.

The two former agents lack standing to bring “most of their claims” challenging rules that require US Department of Justice permission before taking certain jobs, Judge Sparkle L. Sooknanan of the US District Court for the District of Columbia said in a Tuesday opinion dismissing their suit. And the Civil Service Reform Act precludes claims that the policy violates the Administrative Procedure Act, she said.
