I am Mike Swanson, the first Democrat declared running for US Senate in Texas from a working-class background, ready to fight for real people. AMA!

I grew up in a military family and spent most of my life in low-wage jobs, relying on Medicaid and SNAP to get by. I know what it’s like to be pushed aside while big corporations get all the breaks. As a former union flight attendant twice over, I organized my coworkers to stand up to corporate overreach and demand what we were owed by our bargaining agreement. Now, I’m wanting to take that fight to Washington to hold powerful corporations accountable and make sure working people come first. I am fighting on a platform that challenges the status quo by removing the bottlenecks crushing our immigration system, ensuring everyone gets covered by healthcare, and protecting our planet for future generations. 

This Senate race is about to accelerate from the top 2 Republican contenders, inclusive of the incumbent John Cornyn. While they're throwing their corporate war chests at each other, I want to focus on building a movement that's ready to take on whoever comes out the other side, all from grassroots support.
