This is the attitude I find most disturbing in politics today

  1. This republican strategist from the 80s said it best:

“You start out in 1954 by saying, ‘N*****, n*****, n*****.’ By 1968 you can’t say ‘n*****’-that hurts you, backfires. So you say stuff like, uh, forced busing, states’ rights, and all that stuff, and you’re getting so abstract. Now, you’re talking about cutting taxes, and all these things you’re talking about are totally economic things and a byproduct of them is, **blacks get hurt worse than whites**.… ‘We want to cut this,’ is much more abstract than even the busing thing, uh, and a hell of a lot more abstract than ‘N*****, n*****.'”

    -Lee Atwater

Obviously the outgroup expanded since then.

  2. Be clear. This is not an issue in “politics”. This an issue in MAGA/Republicanism.

  3. It sounds like the red states are getting it worse than the blue states currently. I don’t need the NWS as bad as the middle of the country and the gulf do right now and in the near future. Hurricane season is going to be a bit more chaotic this year.

  4. These people have been like this since before the Civil War. As long as someone else (not white) is worse off than them they’re fine.

The worst thing that could happen to them is they become the lowest in the hierarchy. Since they nearly are now, they’re burning it down so they can be on top again.

  5. They don’t even care if it’s “worse.” They are satisfied if it just “mildly inconveniences” liberals! 😂

  6. I’m looking at a map of where the big fires, tornadoes, and hurricanes happen and it’s mostly not in liberal cities. Good thing those super independent alpha types can tread water.

  7. It’s more and more obvious that “Make sure America can never be Great Again” just didn’t fit on the hat

  8. Trump came down that escalator to announce his first candidacy and drug a cubic butt ton of hate and revenge with him.

  9. Ironically, all of the idiotic things Trump is doing really don’t affect me or most of my dem friends. But I sure am feeling sorry for the Trumpsters who will soon find themselves with low incomes, high prices and no healthcare.

  10. I would feel SO owned if all of Maga drank the kool-aid

  11. ironically though the china tariffs and and medicaid cuts will hurt red states more than blue

  12. This mentality seems to have its roots in MAGA, but interestingly it has been a part of Russian culture for a very long time

  13. While my personal political views are that we should be working to make things/life easier/better for everyone, the irony of the people who wear red hats is that while things are bad, generally speaking, they’re hurting worse.

  14. I know a woman who approached her divorce/ custody battle like this.

  15. Many small town Republicans have realized that their life won’t get better. They have watched their area slowly die and lose services over the past 30 years or so.

Since they can’t elevate themselves, they want to tear others down. That’s why they don’t seem to have any real policies other than to piss off liberals.

  16. is this humorous? it’s an accurate critique. maybe it’s funny, “sad funny” but it sure isn’t funny, laugh funny.

  17. Magas would let trump shit in their mouth if it meant a liberal had to walk by and smell it

  18. It’s going to be worse for those wearing the hats. You’ll find out soon.
