“Trump did not betray Europe, he betrayed himself,” “I think he simply misjudged the situation in the negotiations with Putin. Or overestimated his strength as the American president,” German Defense Minister Pistorius.

  1. Trump slowly trying to walk this one back just isn’t gonna happen. The entire world has knives out for America now including its ~~former~~ allies and it feels weird saying that given how geostrategically important America has been for the last 80 years.

Oh well. Europe is building its own standing military finally formerly as a result with laws impending from the EU government about its forces and structure and roles.

Time to shut down the US army hospitals in Germany and see how they like that.

  2. Just love all the people pushing Russian propaganda that the US has abandoned Europe… not.

  3. Have another can of copium.

I dont think ‘betrayal’ is a useful frame. It just leads to unconstructive grievances.

The key is to realise that Trump is a fascist and US is sliding rapidly into fascim. We do not share values with the US. They are not a reliable partner.

Europe needs to sort its own situation and learn to deal with Russia.

  4. Should’ve referred to him as “…the [temporary] American president” to really twist the knife and remind him his power has an expiration date.

  5. 20 years ago my thoughts on America was dog muck between Canada and Mexico. Now it’s just a cesspool overflowing with dog muck.

  6. The Art of the Squeal.

Trump is a terrible negotiator. He made basic mistakes that a good negotiator would never make.

He made it clear that he needed a positive result. A good negotiator makes it known that walking away is always an option.

Trump tried to deal with a maximalist such as Putin by giving things away up front. A maximalist will always resort to extreme demands until the last minute and view concessions as indications of weakness, which will only lead to more demands.

Trump is a bully who only wins when he can bully the other side in a lopsided relationship. That is rarely going to work with foreign policy, and it often doesn’t even work in business.

  7. I know I am going to sound like an idiot, but as I was scrolling, I genuinely thought that man was Kevin Spacey for a moment.

  8. I would like these leaders to stop giving trump the benefit of the doubt.

  9. We betrayed ourselves by convincing ourselves that the US and its taxpayers are always going to protect us. It’s on us to rectify it, Germany is more guilty of that than anyone else. If we are one US election away from a continental wide security crisis, that’s on us, not on Trump.

No one says Trump talks sense, but on this particular point, he is right. We should be willing and able to protect ourselves without help from them. And without being accountable to ourselves, then what’s the point in all this talk.

  10. Putin made Trump look like a paper tiger. Not good

  11. That’s bait. They want to enrage him.

FWIW, I thought he would eventually get mad at Putins intransigence and just go “eff it. We are sending F16’s and MLRS. We have the best F16’s in the world folks… they are really great. And our rocket launchers, well they launch multiple rockets. Multiple rockets with range to Moscow, so amazing”

  12. I encourage Europe to unify in all ways and embrace its Asian partners. When the US recovers, you can decide if its worth the baggage. and by all means, isolate the Russians. Their society is sicker than the Americans and set for another grand collapse.

  13. Uh oh. President Trump is never wrong and He’s right about everything. 🇺🇸

  14. This statement seems to be directed at Trump in a somewhat subtile manner. He wants to trigger him in a certain way and hopefully it will work as intended.

  15. These politicians are even now trying to find a rational explanation for Trump’s behaviour. Dude’s fucked in the head in a multitude of ways, what more do you need to know?

  16. I would like to know why this stupid asshole is covering for Trump.

Trump has been a Russian agent since the 1980s.

  17. If you still hope for a return from the United States, defense Europe will not be possible. We have to organize ourselves. The Americans will later be able to come to our side. But the defense of Europe must be uniquely European. And to avoid betting everything on a European country in the event of political change.

  18. More of:

“Trump is not a Russian asset”

“Trump is behaving like Putin’s bitch I am shocked”

    🤡

  19. Sounds like when a parent says “No, we’re not cross, we’re disappointed and you should feel ashamed of your actions and have a long hard think.”

  20. classic woke habit. always boast how powerful and strong they are butttt when conservative start left them behind. that mouth start being pedestrian whore. LOL

proof it if you are strong play that game alone no need blame people from your small gut problem.

  21. Lol. He’s ignorant and arrogant yes,but his main motivation is doing business in Russia and a Nobel peace prize.

  22. If europe actually cared there would of been an 100% embargo from day 1 and lethal aid.

Europeans been killing europeans for centuries. Im so glad we aint getting dragged into this shit fight.

  23. What a diplomatic and measured comment.

Is that what actual grownups talk like?

  24. Yeah, the sock puppet doesn’t work the hand, Trump.

  25. European attempts to pacify Russia are really quite amusing. The Germans never learn do they?

  26. Bahahaha, another loser making claims that he also knows they are going to lose. So sad to see Europe this way. America stay out, this is not your war.

  27. trump has betrayed Europe, and more importantly, trump has betrayed the United States.
