I get why we’d be able to stop a military flight but this does seem a bit different? I assume we’ve deportation flights that stop in other countries?

Why exactly has the country given the Americans sovereignty over Shannon airport? They can fly anyone or anything they want through Shannon and the government won’t or can’t do anything about it. It’s a total embarrassment.
Surely a journalist would be investigating why an “investigation” even needs to be had. Why doesn’t the Tánaiste know about such serious breeches in Ireland’s sovereignty and security? That’s the real question. He either knows and he’s covering it up, or he doesn’t know, in which case he’s an incompetent.
If true, its an absolute disgrace.
He could also investigate the deportations his own government have been doing..
These flights should not be allowed through Irish airspace or indeed land at any Irish airport.
Absolutely no exceptions.
We can not or should not be seen to be facilitating these illegal flights.
Why would you stop in Shannon when flying to Africa , a bit out of the way ??
