Hi everyone. Recently my home is infested with ants. I live in a studio at ground level so i guess it is easy to be infested with pests. Last year i had the same problem and bought ant trap and they disappeared after 2 weeks.
But this year they come back stronger than ever and with more numbers than last year.
So how do i get rid of them?
I appreciate all help.

You have to find the source aka entryway. They come for a reason (usually food) and need a way in. I used clear silicone to close cracks in the wall.
Several remedies are available. For what it’s worth, baking powder has worked for me.
Why don’t you just google this instead of asking here or do you think there are some entomologists hanging around desperate to give some advice?
Eat em.
I used this to get rid of ants. [RAID](https://www.tokmanni.fi/muurahaissyotti-raid-1-kpl-5000204698176?gad_source=1&gad_campaignid=21164124121&gclid=Cj0KCQjwlrvBBhDnARIsAHEQgOTKNz4Gsbnxm58Jjm-OzdDMW7KjD72yqdgcdhQcefd6KU0As0H3F1EaAunsEALw_wcB)
If you don’t want to use silicone a great way to get rid of ants is chilli pepper powder, just get the cheapest one, spread it around the area where they are coming from and you can clean it up later, they will never return there anyway. Works everytime
Slow acting ant poison at entryway. Once the ants get back into their nest they kill all of it. Clean your room througly to make it less appealing for future invasions.
Cinnamon
Fun lite. Or any other juice sweetend with aspartam. They’ll drink it thinking it’s sugar and take it to their nest for others to consume aswell. Their bodies wont take it and break.
Pest control technician here. If that’s the common Black garde ant (Lasius niger) then the best course of action is to wipe the floors and counter tops with a wet rag daily. This removes all scent trails and also sources of food.
But keep a couple of cm away from the walls where you see the ants now and place some ant gel bait in that un-wiped “corridor”. This way the ants will put the scent trail to the gel bait and it will eventually kill the infestation. If you wipe away all scent trails then they will roam around uncontrollably for a while.
You can also use some ant micro granulates outside where you see the Black garden ants and their nests.
Then continually vacuum clean and wet wipe the floors and other hard surfaces during the ant season.
If it’s not the Black garden ant it could be the Jet black ant (Lasius fuliginosus). This smells very, very strongly of citrus and is not something you get rid of with just baits or cleaning. This ant is a bit bigger and very shiny black.
They live outside under a rock or similar. Without killing off the nests they will come inside every spring.
Those bait boxes are ok, but you may want to use a vacuum or other method to reduce numbers quicker.
Patience is the key.
Mix baking soda and icing sugar 1:1 ratio (icing sugar not regular sugar) in a bowl, leave it where they usually gather and they will disappear. If you have pets or children, maybe cover it up in a jar or something and only leave a small open hole for the ants to reach inside
More ant traps. Blocking their point of entry could work in some places, but in my experience they always find a way in. If placed right, ant traps are an effective way to get rid of the whole colony. Ant traps don’t kill just the ants that enter it; the ants bring the poison into the nest.
Maybe contact professional pest control?
I’d paint them white, but that’s because I’m an artist.
Cinnamon
Cleaning and removing traces is good. In addition I use baking powder in entrances and their walking paths.
Get a dog. My dog used to eat ants whenever they would invade our home
With white and/or police ants. /S
Burn them with fire.
First, remove ant food!
Clean floors and counter tops, tidy apartment. Use detergents which disrupt ant smell trails.
Ant-edible food packed in ant-proof containers or fridge/freezer.
Then, speed up ants going away with poison traps like you show.
Black ants are basically harmless. Above things should keep them out of sight. Avoid excessive poison spraying.
I used to block their way with hand dish washing detergent such as Fairy. Just make a line that blocks their way.
Have you tried [Verminix?](https://www.k-ruoka.fi/kauppa/tuote/vermiinix-muurahaispolyte-100g-7331908000155)
Don’t say it, don’t say, don’t say it…..
American policema………
I use cinnamon. It disrupts their pheromones and they down walk past it.
